Dear Friend,
Welcome to this month's newsletter -- Overdressing for Running!
If you enjoy this issue, please share it with your running friends or anyone you know who might find this tip useful.
I often make the mistake of overdressing for running and this morning was no exception. It was warm (around 15°C) but it was raining hard and the rain felt cold so I put on my running jacket.
After about 10-15 minutes I began to feel too warm with the jacket on and I didn't need it anymore. I could have taken it off and tied it around my waist but I really dislike doing that because it moves around a lot and flaps in the wind. It feels very uncomfortable to me and it takes time to do.
Then I thought of a quick solution that works so well for me that I wanted to share it with all of you.
I just unzipped my jacket and then zipped it part way up behind my back (as shown in the video below). It was a quick and effective solution and I was back to running again in seconds.
It worked perfectly. I was getting lots of air on my torso and I could pull up my sleeves if I was still too warm.My jacket wasn't swinging a lot or flapping in the wind although it does move a little across my back but not enough to be annoying.
If I got cold again, I could have my jacket back on in seconds. This was the perfect solution for me. I hope you find it helpful during those times when you overdress for running.
So what about you? Do you often make the mistake of overdressing for running? Has this solution helped you? Do you have any other suggestions? We would love to hear from you. Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
