I can so relate to all of the criteria! I will never be a fast runner--but I am getting faster. I may never have that typical runner body--but my body (and soul) are healthier because of running.

There are benefits of barefoot running that you may not be aware of. If you were, maybe you would quickly toss your cushioned running shoes for a more natural, minimal pair.
