Barefoot Running as a Spiritual and Healing Practice
Barefoot running has become a popular option for runners who want to improve their running form and reduce running injuries. However, others are going barefoot for completely different reasons.
Michael Sandler and Sue Kenney, both authors, began running barefoot for spiritual and healing purposes. Michael Sandler, author of Barefoot Running, was involved in a debilitating accident in which he almost lost his leg. Despite doctor's predictions of never being able to run again, Michael is now running 10-20 miles a day in his bare feet.
Michael found miraculous healing and experienced a strong spiritual connection to the earth by running barefoot in a natural environment. He developed a natural relationship with the ground by connecting directly with his bare feet. He began to run light and free and quietly--not making any sound as his feet touched the ground.
Sue Kenney, whom I have had the fortune experience of interviewing recently, also uses barefoot walking and running as a spiritual and healing practice. Sue is the author of My Camino, a re-collection of her inspirational and life-changing experiences while walking 780 kms on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
Sue experienced a profound spiritual connection with Mother Earth and experienced a state of absolute happiness when she began walking barefoot in nature. Sue now holds barefoot healing workshops to teach others about the healing that we can receive by connecting with the earth.

Visualizations can be extremely beneficial in helping your achieve your life goals and dreams, but many of us find this technique quite difficult. Spending time in front of the TV or the computer and constantly receiving visual inputs make it difficult for us to be able to quiet our minds and create our own visual images.
Try these Visualization Methods to help you sharpen your imagination and visualization skills.
